VERNON KATIPA	Bass Major and Bass Minor Tutor

Having had over 21 years of bass experience, Vernon is a well known individual in the New Zealand music scene.

Vernon comes from Manurewa. His musical roots are deeply influenced by the 1970's and 80's Motown style.

Over his career, Vernon has met many recognised bassists with the likes of Jeff Berlin, Abraham Laboriel, Paul Jackson, Ron Kenoly and Alvin Slaughter and he brings with him to EXCEL this rich pool of experience and knowledge. He also credits much of his success to the support of his family and wife of 9 years, Siale.
