Alex McCarthy

Alex has been the Tour Manager for Excel for the last 3 years. He is a New Zealand born Samoan and has lived in New Zealand for most of his life. Alex completed a Bachelor's degree in Communications at Auckland University of Technology. Upon completing his formal education, he decided to travel the world and see what it had to offer him. Over the span of 5 years, Alex lived and worked in Italy, France, London and traveled extensively throughout Europe before returning home to New Zealand.

Being brought up in a performing arts environment, Alex's expertise lie in theatre and radio. He has experience in radio both overseas, working a year for London's Radio 1, and here in New Zealand as an announcer for Niu FM and Flava 96 one. He has also voiced for TVNZ and Prime TV as a corporate voice and for documentaries. His hobbies included movies, good food, good wine and good company.

Alex is definitely a people person. He enjoys addressing an audience and is an oustanding speaker who loves to communicate challenging issues to New Zealand's youth. He is passionate about his travels and the performing arts and finds that being a Tour Manager allows him to motivate young people and help them to see their potential. To Alex, this is the best part about being on tour every year.
